The Body Practice

Some years ago, I took a class with an avante-gard choreographer, Deborah Hay.

The experience changed my life.  Hay directs the dancer into becoming mindful of each cell of the body and the totality of space around it, how the mind can choose the bodies actions and the ways in which space shifts with each action…even something as seemingly insignificant as breath.  An impossible task, but one which I found well worth exploring.

I had never been so aware of my body as I was with Hay.  I began playing with the idea…What if my body was my Teacher?  This began what I call The Body Practice.  Mindfulness meshed with Creativity and Wisdom.  This blog explores some of the places my Teacher…the Body is taking me.

Which book would you recommend by Ms. Hay? My Body, the Buddhist looks really good. I feel like a groupie, lol, but I am thirsty for depth as for a time, the craze has just depleted me.
