Kitty Nursery Update 2
This is an update about the wee kittens five that my husband, friend and I helped rescue earlier in the week. The mom had been severly dehydrated and was panting when we figured out she wanted our help. Eventually, over the course of several hours, in the middle of the night, we were able to save her and her litter.
The next afternoon, the momma was still recovering, but never left the babies side. I brought food to her and water. And decided the little ones might need a hand with eating.
I patiently tried feeding each of them. They might take a little but rejected it for the most part. The bottle I had prepared mostly went untouched. I layered it over Patches’ food because I figured she could use the extra nutrience. She lapped it up and seemed quite satisfied.

She had a furry part under her bottom lip that lets you know when she has eaten something. It will either have droplets of water or gravy or this kitten formula. It is rather endearing.
I have been focusing on her and helping her on her road to wellness. I could tell the babies were getting some food. But as of this third day together, they seem quite happy. Nature has a way of taking care of her own. Little Lactating Queen Patches has bounce back from her bout with dehydration and has been feeding the babies on her own. I keep thinking of former president Ronald Regan who talked about giving money to business and corporations so that the Everyday Joe would get it through association. Now I don’t know much about politics, but when we are talking Momma to Babies, the trickle down theory seems to be working magic!

When I peaked out earlier, Patches had gone out to streatch her limbs and the 5 Wee Ones who I have fondly been calling Love Muffins, were nested together in a tiny circle of life.
Ahhhhh…my heart is happy.

I am so glad to hear they are thriving.
Have a great weekend.
