Kitty Nursery Update

The sweeties are all so cute.  They look like one of our males…the only one I haven’t gotten fixed yet.  Oops.  One of them looks like Little Mommie Patches.  I am off to the pet store to buy baby formula.  Geez…the little thing knew exactly which family of suckers to get her to help!  Her milk has gone flat (so to speak) and the babies are fighting eachother for the few places to latch on.

(Our babies look a bit like this one only much smaller.)

The vet says if we choose to feed them…..CHOOSE?  There is no choice as far as I am concerned.  Sweet sista comes crying with five little ones at your back door and you push up your sleeves.  So they get fed every 2-4 hours.

Looks like I will be serving up kitty chow round the clock from the South Texas Bohemian Cafe.  It is a good meditation in feeding myself little doses several times a day.  I am totally up for it and know Hubby and BF who lives with us will be itching to pitch in.  Good for the Soul for Sure!

Will keep you updated and see if I can snatch a few pics.

We had a similar experience years ago and it was one of the most rewarding ones ever for my children and I. I know what you mean about the vet calling it a choice. The only choice I see is in loving and feeding those babies until they can go to homes of their own. Way to go you, in doing the right thing! :) What a wonderful experience you must be having right now. Take care!

We went through it with a 4 little bunnies… the mama wouldn’t have them, kept pushing them out of the nest so we bundled them up, warmed then in the oven and took turns feeding them with a tiny eyedropper. All four of them thrived, so cute. Of course they all grew up to be ‘little fryers’ :( but we lived on a farm, after all…. it was to be expected. But they sure were cute when they were tiny.

Good job Rae. I am eagerly awaiting updates.

It looks as if you have already been rewarded with the extra weight loss, so maybe being a kitty foster mum is helping too.
